Good Friday and Easter Sunday 2024: What is open and closed
This Friday marks the beginning of a festive weekend for those celebrating Holy Week.
The video is from a previous report.
In 2024, Good Friday falls on March 29, while Easter Sunday takes place on March 31. If you plan to go out on any of those days, keep in mind that some stores and businesses may be closed, depending on your location.
Here’s what you need to know for 2024.
Although Good Friday is not a federal holiday, there are several state holidays, including North Carolina, Texas and New Jersey who observe it as a state holiday. That means state and local government offices will be closed on Good Friday in those states, although federally operated government agencies, such as the USPS, will remain open.
OPEN
Most retail stores, including Costco, Target, Walmart and Kroger, plan to be open during regular business hours on Good Friday. Since it is not a federal holiday, most major banks will also remain open.
USPS, UPS and Fedex will be open and operating according to normal delivery schedules.

Besides, US stock markets will be closed good Friday.
